Free Video Hosting Sites

Free Video Hosting Sites, "and how do i know what's best for me?" well, these are all common questions that can quite franklyleave you paralyzed. however, here at the sales lion,

we've developed criteria that we use to help align our clients with the best video hosting platforms that work for their company. if you stick around tothe end of this video, you'll know the exact criteriayou need to take into account in order to pick the bestvideo hosting platform for your company as well. hey guys, i'm zach from the sales lion,

and today we're going to be talking about the four most popularvideo hosting platforms that we align our clientswith here at the sales lion. now, there's so many more to pick from, whether it's youtube, vimeo, wistia, sproutvideo, metacafe. there's so many options, those are just to name a few. but these are the four most popular ones.

and within each one of these descriptions, i'm gonna tell you a littlebit about the background of the platform. i'm gonna give you a real customer review, as well as a rating, from us here at the sales lion, about whether it would be a good fit for marketing videos or not. so without further ado,

let's get straight into it. number one is youtube. probably one of the most popular social sharing videoswebsites on the internet now, the second biggest search engine, a real platform that you'regonna want to consider as you begin video marketing. and the reason being, because it's more than justa video hosting platform,

but it's also a social community, as well as a search engine. so while it's free, and you have advertising-freevideo hosting, as long as you haven'tmonetized your channel, you can also leverage itto build your seo on-page, as well as build a socialcommunity and a following around your youtube channel. along with being able tohost your videos there,

they also give you asuite of basic analytics like watch time, audience retention, and important metricsthat help you determine if your videos are being effective, and who you're reaching, and how long you'reable to reach them for. youtube also has a education center, as well as many differentplugins that you can use to really increase theeffectiveness of youtube,

and how you're using it. now, at this point in time, youtube is pretty weak inthe integrations category. you can however use athird-party app like zapier to integrate with things like dropbox, google drive, wordpress, things like that. but integration capabilitiesaren't real high on youtube's list.

now, our customer reviewcomes from nathaniel via trustpilot. he gives youtube five stars, and says, "good well know video sharing site. "youtube has had manychanges in design since 2005 "when it first launched. "but the main premise stays the same, "video sharing.

"with hours upon hours ofvideo uploaded every day, "you can find videos of whatever you want, "gaming, makeup tutorials, and music, "are some of the mostpopular videos on the site. "but they're not the only ones. "with loads of support forscripting/theming extensions "like stylish for web browsers "such as mozilla firefoxand google chrome, "and html5 or flash player,

"livestreaming, "and 4k 60 frames per second videos, "it's hard not to recommend it." i gave youtube a three out of five. and this is basically justbecause of the weakness in the analytics, and being able to really measure how effective your videos being. now, from on-page seo standpoint,

you can see a lot. you can tag your videos. you can see how yourtitles and descriptions, and things like that, are going to affect your video. however, you can't really get in-depth with the watch time reports, and you can't actually seewho was watching the video. whereas with other platformsyou can see an ip address,

and at least start to formsome data around the viewers that are looking at your videos. but the fact that it's free, it has reliable uptime, and has support for hd videos, makes it a good option if you'relooking for something free, and a place where you canbuild a social community. number two is wistia, a video hosting platformwhich came out in 2007,

and it's based out ofboston, massachusetts. now, they have a pretty sweet platform, if you ask me. this is gonna give you toolsfor not just marketing, but also for sales, hr, customer support. they give you tools to really make video a part of the culture of your company, and a way to integrateit easily within all of the different facetsyou might want to use it.

and wistia is free to get started with. i think you have a maximumof about three videos that you can start. if you want to get on the pro plan, it's $99 a month. but it's gonna give youtools to make really awesome, interactive videos, add things like calls-to-action, turnstiles,

which are basically form overlays. some additional featuresinclude video heatmaps, chapters, passwords, where you can actuallypassword protect your videos and only show it to certain people. regarding integration capabilities, this is actually a really robust system, which integrates withmarketing automation software like hubspot, marketo,

as well as google chrome extensions, which allow to easilyembed videos in emails, send videos, easily access them fromdirectly within google chrome. in addition to integrations, you also some add-on toolslike animoto, airwatch, things like that, that you can use to create, enhance, or export, your videos easily from wistia.

now, our real customerreview comes from laura b. via g2 crowd. she gives wistia athree out of five stars. she says, "very easy to use. "wistia was very easy to use right away. "lots of great trainingvideos on their site, "and overall pretty straightforward. "i liked the options to add links,

"and especially the carousel, "which let's us have, basically, "a suite of videos thatcustomers can select from. "other cool features arebeing able to tag sections "in the video so viewerscan jump to certain topics. what she dislikes isthat their website states that the pro package includes integration with marketing automationsystems like hubspot. however, when you try to do,

they tell you it's actuallyhalf again more expensive, so kind of false advertising. also the value for beingable to collect leads, and pass them to the marketingsystem is not as high as they're charging for it, so not worth, and very disappointing. recommendations toconsidering the product: it has limitations but it'seasy to use and worth the price.

just be wary of the marketing automations. it is a lot more expensive. and unless you're going touse feature consistently, it isn't worth it in my opinion. here at the the sales lion, we gave wistia a four out of five. and this was very close to five stars, because of the very robust set of tools that wistia offers up that you can use

to make your videos more in-bound centric. now, for the price $99 a month, you might want to makesure you're utilizing all of the features that it has. and you should identify if wistia is gonna meet all those needs to justify the cost of $100 a month. but if you want to dig deeper into wistia, make sure you check outour one last tool podcast,

where we actually interviewfolks from the wistia team, and get their take on whatmakes the tool so great. next on our list is vidyard, which is a video hostingplatform based off of canada. now, vidyard is a very robust platform, very close to wistia, which allow you to makevery interactive videos, as well as give you in-depth analytics that are really gonna help you

determine how effective yourvideos are actually being. vidyard is really heavyin the feature section. if you pop the hood on vidyardand start looking around, you're really gonna find that you're getting you're money's worth. they have a vidyard studio, as well as personalized video, interactive events, vidyard live,

a/b split testing, and much more. these are some of thethings that video platforms just do not have. now the most excitingfeature about vidyard, in my opinion, is their interactive annotations. so we all are familiar withannotations on youtube, where you used to be able touse these big ugly red boxes

to overlay video, and it would just totallyinterrupt the viewing session. well, vidyard has totally dreamed up a new way of doing this, and given us interactiveways to use our annotations. so using css, html5 or javascript, we can now put interactive buttons, dropdown forms, and all sorts of really cool styling

to overlay our videos, and it's totally different thanany other platform is doing. this is probably my favorite feature when it comes to vidyard. now, vidyard probably hasthe most exhaustive list of integration capabilities out of any of the otherplatforms on this list. you can easily integratewith hubspot, marketo, act-on, salesforce, mailchimp,

just to name a few. but these are all tools that you can use to kind of align your socialcontent email strategy in with your videos. now, our real customer review comes from matthew via g2 crowd, and he gives vidyard afive out of five rating. he says, "analytics to turbocharge videomarketing and lead scoring.

what he likes best about vidyard is that, "it gives us the analyticsand lead capture tools "we need in our marketing videos "to properly lead scoreeveryone we reach out to. "the tracking you wantto do on your emails, "page-views, heatmaps, et cetera, "just became accessible onyour video marketing as well. "it's a no-brainer. "why wouldn't you want granular data

"and insights on the marketingthat takes the most time "and money to produce? "the marketing side ofthe product is great. "embed ctas in your videos, track that. "see what videos performswell and doesn't. "the sales side helps you close deals, "target leads, "and get inside their heads "when you can't actuallysee what they're doing.

"using vidyard for salesdemos has helped all around. "and using them for marketing material "gives us insights that wewouldn't have gotten otherwise. "highly recommended." now, our sales lion rating ofvidyard's a four out of five, but once again, this is very close to five stars. and i actually would probablyrank this one above wistia just based on the featuresand integration set alone.

now, if you really want tobeef up the video marketing, and you want to get areally in-depth analytics, vidyard is probably gonnabe the best option for you. as well as if you want a rich feature set, and you want to be ableto integrate easily with your other platforms, vidyard, once again, is probablygonna be the best option. now, last but certainly notleast on our list is vimeo pro. vimeo kind of being merged

as one of the best highdefinition video hosting platforms around 2007, where they were the only platform where you could actuallyupload full hd videos. now, to this day, picture quality and resolutionis still top of mind, and is pretty much next to none when it comes to these other platforms. vimeo is really madefor heavy video creators

who want to maintain quality, as they upload their videos, and stream them to their community. now, vimeo pro is gonna giveyou a little more features than you're just gonna getwith a vimeo account as it is, a basic vimeo account, if you will. so you're gonna haveadvertising-free streaming, you're gonna havepowerful analytics tools, you're gonna have customworkflow and management tools,

you're gonna be able toupload and manage 4k videos, you're gonna have accessto lessons and tutorials, the ability to work with 360 video, really just a beefy setfor a true video creator who needs to get the mostout of quality and resolution of the video itself. now, as far as integrationcapabilities with vimeo pro, it's a pretty weak list just like youtube. the only main integrationpartners they have right now

are adobe and google drive. however, just like youtube, you can use zapier to create some zaps, and try and work in someof your existing platforms with vimeo pro, to try and get the mostout of all of them. some zaps that alreadyexist on zapier right now include wordpress, gmail, rev, and facebook. now, our real customerreview comes from ross

via trustradius. and he gives vimeo profive out of five stars, and says, "as a production agency, "we use vimeo pro todistribute client videos "we have produced. "it provides a syndicationinstance of client videos, "which is then indexed byinternet search engines, "and returned with search results, "separate and apart fromthe client's own instance

"on their website orsocial media accounts." "vimeo pro pros: "high quality, high definition encoding, "mobile video player support, "efficient streaming of video content "for all mobile devices. "vimeo pro also provides multiple formats "and sized downloadoptions for every video "located on its platform.

"vimeo pro also supportsalbums, galleries, "and sets of videos forgrouping similar content." now, ross says his likelihoodto recommend vimeo pro, it's well suited as anonline video sharing platform specifically when theuser has multiple videos, needs to benefit from video seo, as well as the formattingand display options made available through thevimeo pro premium service. now, our rating here at the sales lion

is about a three out of five, and the reason being, it's kind of weak when itcomes to what marketers might need to get out of a platform. we are very heavy on lead generation and being able to measure certain things related to marketing, where vimeo pro is for a reallyintense video creation user. so they're gonna toolsto maintain quality,

and manage their filesa little bit differently than a marketer's gonna want to. so from a marketing perspective, we would give vimeo proa three out of five. so those are the four mostpopular video hosting platforms that we deal with here on the sales lion, as well as recommendthat you might look into to see if they're a goodfit for your business. now, the bottom line is thatfind a video hosting platform

that's gonna take care of all the problems or needs that you have. for instance, if you needa really robust analytics, if you need the ability toreally enhance video seo, both on and off-page, if you have a lot of videos and you need a space to be ableto easily manage all of them in one place, these are importantcriteria you need to know

before you start looking aroundthese different platforms. all of these platforms that i've mentioned are either free or offer afreemium version of the product, or a trial period. i would highly encourageyou to go check them out before you actually buy andstart incorporating this into your team's process. now, things you're gonnaneed to keep in mind are, who's gonna be on the platform?

what do they need to get out of it? is it gonna be somethingthat your whole team can easily adapt and adjust to, and be able to manage yourvideos quickly and efficiently? common questions youmight ask yourself are, if each video has a goal, do we have a way of measuring that goal? is there gonna be a time in which you're gonnaoutgrow the platform?

or are we gonna be ableto show the proper data to justify our video efforts? now, if you want to read the full article we wrote about this, please visit the thesaleslion.com, or click the link inthe description below. if you have any questions, as always, please put themin the comment section below, as well as give us a big thumbs
